Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances Faces GST Search at Chennai Facility

Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances Ltd has informed that a Search Operation has commenced from 6.00 a.m. at its Factory Premises at Pudupakkam village, Chennai by the officers of the Department of Goods and Services Tax (DGGST).
Regulatory Action Initiated by GST Authority
The search was conducted by Joint Commissioner (ST) Intelligence Chennai, Chengalpattu Division, the company said in a filing to the BSE under Regulation 30 of SEBI(Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements)Regulations, 2015. The move was carried out under the relevant sections of the Tamil Nadu Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. The search began on May 21, 2025, at 1:00 pm, and the main allegation is regarding bogus claims of input tax credit beyond the provisions of the Act.
No Financial Demand Raised, Business Unaffected
The search operation has not affected the company’s regular factory or office operations, Butterfly Gandhimathi said. It is also brought to your kind attention that on the date of this disclosure, there has been no financial demand raised by the GST authorities.
