Ceigall India Wins ₹608.67 Crore Transmission Project; Shares Rise 4.46%

Ceigall India emerged as the L1 bidder for a major interstate transmission project covering evacuation of power from Lakadia and Jam Khambhaliya in Gujarat.

Mumbai August, 26: Ceigall India Limited has emerged as the L1 bidder for a major interstate transmission project in Gujarat and Maharashtra, sending its shares 4.46% higher in afternoon trade.
According to the company’s exchange filing dated August 26, 2026, Ceigall India emerged as the lowest bidder for the Common Transmission System for evacuation of power from Lakadia Phase-II and Jam Khambhaliya Phase-I, Part-B.
The project was bid through an E-Reverse Auction conducted by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited. The scope covers a 765/400 kV AIS substation with a 300 km transmission line under a tariff-based competitive bidding process.
The contract carries a work execution period of 36 months and an operational period of 35 years from the scheduled commissioning date.
Stock Market Snapshot
The Ceigall India share price stood at ₹338.80 as of 2:36 PM IST on August 26, 2026, up ₹14.45, or 4.46%, according to the market data shown.
The stock had moved sharply higher after remaining around the ₹327 to ₹330 range through the morning. It climbed above ₹340 during the afternoon before easing back towards ₹339.
The disclosed project carries annual transmission charges of ₹608.67 crore for the 35-year operating period. The filing also states that the contract is domestic and does not constitute a related-party transaction.

Project Covers 765 kV Transmission Infrastructure
The transmission project is designed to evacuate power from Lakadia Phase-II, involving 7.5 GW, and Jam Khambhaliya Phase-I, involving 5.5 GW, in Gujarat.
REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited awarded the request for proposal for selecting a transmission service provider through tariff-based competitive bidding. Ceigall India has emerged as the L1 bidder in that process.
The company said there is no interest of its promoter or promoter group companies in the entity awarding the contract.
Conclusion
The L1 position gives Ceigall India a significant transmission infrastructure opportunity with a 36-month execution period and a 35-year operating tenure.
The announcement was followed by a stronger market reaction, with Ceigall India shares trading at ₹338.80, up 4.46%, as of 2:36 PM IST on August 26, 2026.
