Chalet Hotels acquires Udaipur resort for ₹171 crore; shares rise 0.41%.

Mumbai, April 24: Chalet Hotels is entering Udaipur’s hospitality market with the acquisition of Seasons Hotels Private Limited for ₹171 crore, the company said in an exchange filing.
The deal, which will be completed in phases for up to 100% equity, is expected to close by May 15, 2026, subject to agreed terms.
Seasons Hotels owns the Inder Residency Resort & Spa, a 144-room property spread across about 8.2 acres. With this acquisition, Chalet is adding a foothold in one of India’s well-established leisure destinations.
The company plans to reposition the resort into an upper upscale lifestyle property. This will involve refurbishment, brand alignment and, over time, potential expansion of room capacity. Importantly, the hotel will remain operational during this transition, allowing business continuity.
Chalet Hotels share price moved slightly higher after the announcement. At 12:04 p.m. IST, the stock was trading at ₹791.70, up 0.41% from its previous close of ₹788.45. During the session, it ranged between ₹772.00 and ₹794.95.
The modest uptick suggests investors see the move as strategically aligned, even as such expansions typically take time to reflect in earnings.
The acquisition also signals Chalet’s broader push to diversify beyond metro-focused business hotels and deepen its presence in leisure-driven markets.
