Mumbai, June 25: Compressed natural gas prices remained unchanged across major Indian cities on Thursday, with no revision reported by any city gas distribution company. New Delhi continued to price CNG at ₹83.09 per kilogram, retaining its position as one of the most affordable CNG markets in the country, while Mumbai held at ₹86.00 per kilogram. The stability in retail CNG rates comes even as international crude oil and natural gas markets have seen sharp movements in recent sessions, with Brent crude falling toward pre-war levels following the resumption of tanker flows through the Strait of Hormuz.

In the National Capital Region, Noida and Ghaziabad both remained at ₹91.70 per kilogram, while Gurugram was priced at ₹88.12 per kilogram and Rewari at ₹87.70 per kilogram. Sonipat CNG users continued to pay ₹94.00 per kilogram and Meerut at ₹91.50 per kilogram.

Further into Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, Mathura and Bharatpur were both at ₹97.00 per kilogram, while Firozabad remained the highest-priced centre in the group at ₹98.00 per kilogram and Dewas at ₹96.00 per kilogram. In the south, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad all held at ₹97.00 per kilogram, maintaining a significant premium over Delhi and Mumbai rates that reflects differences in gas sourcing, pipeline infrastructure and local taxation.

CNG prices in India are set by individual city gas distribution entities and can vary considerably from city to city based on the underlying cost of natural gas, pipeline tariffs, taxes and levies, and the operating margins of the distribution company. Retail prices are reviewed periodically and do not change daily the way petrol and diesel rates do; revisions tend to be announced in response to sustained changes in input costs or regulatory decisions by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board.

With Brent crude now approaching pre-war levels and global gas markets stabilising alongside the Iran ceasefire progress, city gas companies are likely to watch input cost trends over the coming weeks before announcing any revision.
