Mumbai, June 23: Compressed natural gas prices remained unchanged across major Indian cities on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, with no revision reported by city gas distribution companies. New Delhi continued to price CNG at Rs 83.09 per kilogram, making it among the most affordable CNG markets in the country, while Mumbai held at Rs 86.00 per kilogram. The stability in retail CNG rates comes even as global crude oil prices have been volatile in recent sessions on account of evolving US-Iran diplomatic developments and shifting expectations around Strait of Hormuz cargo flows.
In the National Capital Region, Noida and Ghaziabad both remained at Rs 91.70 per kilogram, while Gurugram was priced at Rs 88.12 per kilogram and Rewari at Rs 87.70 per kilogram. Sonipat CNG users paid Rs 94.00 per kilogram and Meerut at Rs 91.50 per kilogram.
Further into Uttar Pradesh, Mathura and Bharatpur were both at Rs 97.00 per kilogram, while Firozabad was the highest-priced centre in the group at Rs 98.00 per kilogram and Dewas at Rs 96.00 per kilogram. In the south, Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad all held at Rs 97.00 per kilogram, maintaining a significant premium over Delhi and Mumbai rates that reflects differences in gas sourcing, pipeline infrastructure, and local taxation.
CNG prices in India are set by individual city gas distribution entities and can vary considerably from city to city based on factors including the underlying cost of natural gas, pipeline tariffs, taxes and levies, and the operating margins of the distribution company. Retail prices are reviewed periodically and do not change daily the way petrol and diesel rates do; revisions tend to be announced in response to sustained changes in input costs or regulatory decisions by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board.
With global gas markets remaining sensitive to geopolitical developments, particularly around Iran’s export capacity and Hormuz passage, Indian city gas companies are likely to continue monitoring input cost trends before announcing any revision.
