Mumbai, September 29: Coal India Limited has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding with Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited to explore the development of a coal gasification-based urea production project at Sindri, Jharkhand.
Coal India And HURL To Explore Urea Project
According to the exchange disclosure, Coal India and HURL executed the MoU on September 29, 2026. The agreement is aimed at examining the potential development of a urea production facility based on coal gasification at Sindri.
At this stage, the MoU is non-binding. The two companies will initially assess the technical, commercial and implementation aspects of the proposed project.
The exercise will also support the preparation of a Preliminary Feasibility Report (PFR), which will be used to evaluate whether the proposed project is technically and commercially viable.
