Mumbai, July 2: Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. has secured a new domestic order worth approximately ₹29.77 crore from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 1,397 off-grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) across Maharashtra.
The company disclosed the development in an exchange filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations.
The project will be executed under the PM-KUSUM scheme and covers the complete lifecycle of the systems, including design, manufacturing, supply, installation, commissioning, warranty support, repair and maintenance, as well as remote monitoring services for five years.
According to the filing, the order value excludes GST and the work is to be completed within 60 days from the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP) or work order.
Stock Market Snapshot
The announcement received a positive response from investors.
As of 1:24 PM IST on July 2, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals share price was trading at ₹272.95, up ₹3.50 or 1.30% for the day.
While the contract is modest relative to the company’s overall business, it reinforces Crompton’s presence in India’s fast-growing renewable energy infrastructure segment, particularly in government-backed solar irrigation projects.

Order Expands Presence in Government Renewable Projects
The contract involves deployment of solar-powered water pumping systems at multiple locations across Maharashtra under the Centre’s PM-KUSUM initiative, which aims to promote solar-powered irrigation and reduce farmers’ dependence on conventional electricity.
Besides supplying the equipment, Crompton will also provide long-term service support through repair and maintenance commitments and a remote monitoring system over a five-year period. Such projects typically provide visibility beyond the initial execution phase through after-sales and service obligations.
The company said the order was awarded by a domestic entity and confirmed that it is not a related-party transaction. Promoters and promoter group entities have no interest in the awarding authority.
Company Background
Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals is a leading consumer electricals company with a portfolio spanning fans, lighting, pumps and household appliances. In recent years, it has also expanded its participation in public infrastructure and clean energy projects through its pumping solutions business.
Government programmes such as PM-KUSUM continue to create opportunities for companies supplying solar-powered irrigation equipment as states accelerate renewable energy adoption in the agricultural sector.
Conclusion
The latest order adds another government-backed renewable energy project to Crompton’s execution pipeline and strengthens its position in the solar water pumping segment.
Although the contract represents a relatively small portion of the company’s overall revenue base, it supports order book visibility while reinforcing its presence in India’s expanding clean energy and rural infrastructure ecosystem.
