Mumbai, May 15: Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited announced the commissioning of its seventh Medium Voltage (MV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) power cable production line at its Vadodara manufacturing facility.

The newly commissioned line is based on Continuous Catenary Vulcanisation (CCV) technology used for manufacturing MV and EHV XLPE power cables, according to a company release.

The company stated that the commissioning forms part of its ongoing capacity expansion and technology upgradation programme aimed at strengthening its position in the MV and EHV cable segment.

According to the company, the new production line will cater to utilities, renewable energy projects, metro rail systems, industrial infrastructure, smart cities, data centres and underground power distribution networks.

Diamond Power further disclosed that three additional MV/EHV cable lines are currently under various stages of installation and commissioning and are expected to become operational before March 31, 2027.

The company highlighted that CCV technology improves insulation quality, lowers partial discharge levels, enhances electrical performance and enables production of higher voltage grade cables compliant with international standards.

As per the company’s statement, increasing investments in renewable energy, underground cabling, smart grids and power transmission infrastructure continue to support long-term demand growth in the MV and EHV cable industry.

Nivedita Pandya, Vice President, Engineering and Projects, stated that the latest commissioning marks another milestone in Diamond Power’s manufacturing expansion strategy focused on advanced cable technologies.
