Mumbai, October 22, 2026: Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited shares fell 2.92% to ₹328 on Thursday after the company announced plans to add a new Catenary Continuous Vulcanisation (CCV) line at its Vadodara plant, involving an investment of ₹25 crore.
The proposed line will manufacture XLPE-insulated power cables rated up to 132 kV. The expansion is aimed at meeting rising demand for high-voltage and extra-high-voltage cables used in underground cabling projects.
Diamond Power’s New Cable Manufacturing Line
Diamond Power expects the new CCV line to be commissioned by December 31, 2027. Delivery of the plant machinery is scheduled by August 2027, followed by installation and commissioning.
The company currently operates six CCV lines and five silane lines at its 130-acre Vadodara facility. Its existing extra-high-voltage cable manufacturing capacity stands at approximately 2,000 km per annum, with capacity utilisation at 60%.
The proposed addition will expand the company’s manufacturing capabilities for cables up to 132 kV. Diamond Power plans to fund the ₹25 crore investment, including floor extension costs, through internal accruals.
The company cited growing demand from state utilities, transmission developers, renewable energy parks and data centres as the rationale for the expansion.
Stock Market Snapshot
The Diamond Power share price was trading 2.92% lower at ₹328 on Thursday, October 22, 2026, compared with the previous close of ₹337.85. The stock opened at ₹337.
The capacity expansion is intended to strengthen Diamond Power’s high-voltage cable manufacturing capabilities as demand grows across power transmission and infrastructure projects.
