Mumbai ,September 21: Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited has secured orders worth ₹116.49 crore, including GST, for the supply of 11 kV XLPE power cables for underground distribution projects in Gujarat, while its shares gained 2.52% in Monday’s session.
The orders cover around 655 km of medium-voltage underground cables for projects being executed for power distribution utilities in Bhavnagar and Ahmedabad.
Diamond Power Wins 655-Km Gujarat Cable Orders
According to the company’s exchange disclosure, Diamond Power received the orders from Polite Powertech Limited, a Gujarat-based EPC contractor working on underground cable projects for Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL) and Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited (UGVCL).
The contracts involve the supply of 11 kV three-core aluminium XLPE cables in different sizes, including 300 sq mm, 240 sq mm, 95 sq mm and 70 sq mm.
The total quantity covered by the orders is approximately 6,55,356 metres, or around 655 km. The cables will be manufactured at Diamond Power’s integrated plant near Vadodara and supplied in lots based on manufacturing clearances and project requirements.

The stock remained volatile during the morning before gaining momentum later in the session. After trading around the ₹365 to ₹370 zone for much of the day, the shares moved higher during afternoon trade.
The stock crossed ₹375 and touched levels close to ₹379 before standing at ₹376.05 at the latest available timestamp.
Orders Cover PGVCL And UGVCL Projects
The order package includes three projects for PGVCL in the Bhavnagar region and one project for UGVCL covering Kathwada and Shilaj in Ahmedabad.
The largest order in the package is valued at ₹79.83 crore including GST and relates to the Kathwada and Shilaj project for UGVCL. The remaining orders cover underground distribution work in Chitra, Kumbharwada and Diamond Chowk in Bhavnagar.
The company has stated that supplies will be made in lots, with execution expected over the next 12 months depending on manufacturing clearances issued by the customers.
Diamond Power Gets ₹98.72 Crore Base Order Value
The aggregate basic order value stands at ₹98.71 crore, with GST of ₹17.76 crore taking the total consideration to ₹116.49 crore.
The company said the orders have been secured on a variable-price basis, with the base months linked to February, April and July 2026. Final realisation will be linked to the applicable price variation formula.
One of the orders, worth ₹79.83 crore including GST, remains subject to receipt of the Letter of Award from UGVCL by the EPC contractor.
There is no promoter or promoter-group interest in the awarding entity, and the orders do not constitute related-party transactions.
Underground Power Network Drives Cable Demand
The projects are part of efforts to shift portions of Gujarat’s urban power distribution network underground.
Diamond Power said the orders reflect demand from distribution utilities for underground infrastructure aimed at improving reliability and resilience of power networks. The company will manufacture the cables at its Vadodara facility, which is supported by an integrated manufacturing setup.
The company has a manufacturing capacity of around 2,50,000 metric tonnes per annum across 125 operational machines and supplies power cables and conductors for utilities, transmission and distribution EPC contractors, renewable energy developers and industrial customers.
Diamond Power Expands Cable Order Book
The latest contracts add another sizeable project to Diamond Power’s cable business, particularly in the medium-voltage segment.
The company manufactures EHV, HV, MV and LV power cables and conductors under its DICABS brand. Its operations include backward integration into aluminium rod mills and other manufacturing processes.
The Gujarat orders will be executed progressively as manufacturing clearances are received, giving the company additional activity across its cable production and supply operations during the coming months.
