Mumbai, 2 June 2025: EQUIPPP Social Impact Technologies Ltd (NSE: EQUIPPP, BSE: 590057) has announced plans to acquire a 51% equity stake in SMAAX Digitech Pvt. Ltd., backed by a ₹15 crore investment. Approved in principle by EQUIPPP’s Board on May 30, 2025, the deal values SMAAX at ₹150 crore and marks a major step in enhancing Public-Private-People Partnerships (P4s) through Phygital platforms.

SMAAX Joins EQUIPPP’s P4 Vision

SMAAX, a media-tech company known for leading events such as the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA), Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), and upcoming ventures like the Indian National Cine Academy (INCA) and Streaming Academy Awards, will collaborate with EQUIPPP to expand P4s across entertainment, sports, and rural creative sectors.

This strategic partnership aims to merge SMAAX’s content and event capabilities with EQUIPPP’s P4 model to build inclusive, revenue-sharing platforms that promote public engagement and corporate social responsibility.

Phygital Approach to Impact

The initiative will use a Phygital strategy—blending digital reach with physical infrastructure—to scale P4s in diverse sectors.

Vindhya Dronamraju, Wholetime Director at EQUIPPP, stated, “Our long-standing commitment to the P4 model gains fresh momentum through this partnership with SMAAX. Entertainment and sports are key catalysts in driving large-scale social impact.”

Boosting Rural Sports and Cinema

Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Director at SMAAX, announced new P4 initiatives such as “Balloon Theatres,” aimed at creating community-run cinema spaces supported by local entrepreneurs and CSR investments. Additionally, Rural Sports Leagues in Kabaddi, Cricket, Volleyball, and Athletics will be launched, co-managed by rural youth and private players.

Nationwide P4 Expansion

EQUIPPP’s P4 model is now active in several states:

  • Telangana: BFSI skill development and internet rollout in 26,000 schools through T-Fiber.
  • Andhra Pradesh: Anti-poverty initiatives under P4.
  • Madhya Pradesh: Exploring outcome-based funding.

This investment aligns EQUIPPP with scalable, IP-led, community-driven ventures rooted in creativity and collaboration.
