New Delhi: Fortis Healthcare Ltd on Wednesday announced the acquisition of 110-bed Suguna Hospital in Bengaluru for about Rs 277 crore through a slump sale.
The transaction was executed by Fortis’ wholly-owned subsidiary International Hospital Limited (IHL), which acquired the entire business operations, along with the underlying hospital land and building. Located in Rajajinagar, Benguluru, the facility has the potential to expand to 150 beds and recorded revenues of around Rs 50 crore in FY26, Fortis Healthcare said in a release.
The deal bolsters Fortis’ cluster-focused growth strategy, taking its operational network in Bengaluru to about 1,000 beds, it said.
Fortis MD & CEO Ashutosh Raghuvanshi said, “This acquisition expands our presence in the city and specifically in the North West Bengaluru corridor, which we believe is an underserved catchment.”
Suguna Hospital promoters R Ravindra and Sujatha Ravindra said, “The agreement with Fortis Healthcare represents an important step in the hospital’s next phase of growth. Fortis brings significant clinical expertise, operational capabilities and resources that will enable the hospital to expand its offerings.”
