New Delhi: State-owned GAIL (India) Ltd on Friday reported nearly doubling of net profit for the June quarter, as a sharp jump in earnings from its gas marketing business more than offset continued losses in the petrochemicals segment.
Consolidated net profit of Rs 4,670.99 crore in April-June – the first quarter of current financial year 2026-27 – compared with Rs 2,382.24 crore in the same period a year back and Rs 1,471.46 crore in the preceding January-March quarter, according to a stock exchange filing by the company.
Revenue from operations rose to Rs 41,350.18 crore from Rs 35,428.81 crore in April-June 2025.
Earnings from natural gas transmission service rose 14 per cent to Rs 1,782 crore while those from natural gas marketing jumped to Rs 3,481.29 crore in Q1 from Rs 1,071.60 crore a year back.
Earnings from LPG business soared to Rs 772.50 crore in April-June from Rs 205.01 crore a year back.
GAIL, alongside other producers, ramped up cooking gas LPG output after the West Asia conflict disrupted supplies coming from the Middle East.
