New Delhi, October 31: In a recent regulatory filing, GAIL (India) Ltd (NSE: GAIL, BSE: 532155) reported its financial results for the quarter ended September 2025. The company reported an 18% year-on-year decline in standalone net profit for the July–September quarter of FY26. The fall in the finances came due to margin pressure in its petrochemical segment and subdued volume growth across key businesses.

Financial Performance

The company reported moderate financial results, as its revenue from operations reached ₹35,031 crore, a 6% increase from ₹32,930.72 crore in Q2FY25. However, the standalone net profit stood at ₹2,823.19 crore, marking an 18% decrease from ₹3,453.12 crore in the same period last year. The total income for the first half of FY26 (April–September) stood at ₹4,103.56 crore, reflecting a 24% decrease compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

Segment Highlights

The segments also had mixed results: the natural gas transmission and marketing segment remained largely flat, while the petrochemical division recorded a pre-tax loss of nearly Rs 300 crore, weighed down by weaker product margins. The company’s natural gas sales during H1 FY26 averaged 105.47 million standard cubic meters per day (mmscmd), an increase from 98.02 mmscmd a year earlier, reflecting demand stability across industrial and city gas segments.

Furthermore, the company transported 122 mmscmd of gas through its pipeline network in H1, slightly lower than 127 mmscmd in FY25, indicating marginally reduced throughput. Also, the sales for petrochemicals during the six-month period stood at 3.86 lakh tonnes, sharply lower than 8.45 lakh tonnes in FY25, as production volumes and realisations came under pressure.

Market Snapshot

As of October 31, 2025, the share price of GAIL (India) Limited closed at ₹182.20, a decrease of 0.49% or ₹0.89. The stock opened in green at ₹183.39 and traded within a range of ₹181.30 to ₹185.90 during the session. Trading activity remained moderate, with a volume of 121.63 lakh shares and a turnover of ₹223.23 crore. The company’s market capitalisation stood at ₹1,19,798.32 crore at the close of trade.
