Bangalore, July 14: Gold prices opened Tuesday on a quieter note in Bangalore. After Monday’s sharp correction, today’s decline was much smaller, but it was enough to keep the market under pressure. The recent rally that pushed gold to fresh monthly highs now appears to have lost steam, giving buyers a better chance to purchase at lower prices.

According to today’s retail rates, 24-karat gold is selling at ₹14,280 per gram, down ₹11 from the previous session. 22-karat gold has slipped by ₹10 to ₹13,090 per gram, while 18-karat gold is now priced at ₹10,710 per gram, down ₹8.

The fall may seem minor on a per-gram basis, but it makes a noticeable difference for larger purchases. Someone buying 100 grams of 24K gold today would pay ₹1,100 less than they would have paid yesterday. For jewellery buyers planning purchases in the coming weeks, the recent correction offers a little more breathing room than the market did during the first week of July.

Bangalore Gold Rate Today

24K Gold ₹14,280 -₹11
22K Gold ₹13,090 -₹10
18K Gold ₹10,710 -₹8

Gold Rally Loses Momentum After Strong Start to July

The first week of July belonged to the bulls.

Gold prices climbed steadily before touching ₹14,673 per gram on July 5, the highest level recorded this month. At that stage, many buyers chose to wait instead of purchasing at elevated prices, hoping the rally would cool down.

That strategy now seems to be paying off.

Over the past week, gold has gradually given back a large part of its gains. Rather than falling in one sharp move, prices have eased session after session, interrupted only by a couple of brief recoveries. Tuesday’s decline has taken 24K gold to ₹14,280 per gram, nearly ₹393 below the month’s peak.

What Would 10 Grams of 22K Jewellery Cost Today?

The quoted gold rate is only the starting point when buying jewellery. Making charges and GST are added separately, which means the final bill is always higher than the metal’s market value.

Based on today’s prices, assuming 12% making charges and 3% GST, here’s an estimate:

Component Amount
Gold value ₹1,30,900
Making charges (12%) ₹15,708
GST (3%) ₹4,398
Estimated final amount ₹1,51,006

The final amount may vary depending on the jeweller, jewellery design, wastage charges and the making charges applied.

10-Day Gold Price Trend

  • July 14: ₹14,280 (-₹11)
  • July 13: ₹14,291 (-₹142)
  • July 12: ₹14,433 (No change)
  • July 11: ₹14,433 (-₹49)
  • July 10: ₹14,482 (+₹38)
  • July 9: ₹14,444 (+₹131)
  • July 8: ₹14,313 (-₹213)
  • July 7: ₹14,526 (-₹136)
  • July 6: ₹14,662 (-₹11)
  • July 5: ₹14,673 (No change)

The last ten trading sessions tell the story of a market that has gradually cooled after a strong rally. Prices moved sharply higher during the opening week of July before entering a phase of steady correction. While there were a few short-lived recoveries, they weren’t enough to reverse the broader downward trend. As of today, gold is trading at its lowest level of the month.

July Performance So Far

Particulars 24K Gold 22K Gold
July 1 Price ₹14,313 ₹13,120
July 14 Price ₹14,280 ₹13,090
Highest in July ₹14,673 (July 5) ₹13,450 (July 5)
Lowest in July ₹14,280 (July 14) ₹13,090 (July 14)
Monthly Trend -0.23% -0.23%

Unlike the strong gains recorded during the opening days of July, the market has now slipped slightly below where it began the month. While the decline isn’t significant in percentage terms, it clearly shows that the bullish momentum has weakened over the past several sessions.

Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?

Gold prices are influenced by much more than local jewellery demand. Global bullion prices, movements in the rupee against the US dollar, import costs, inflation expectations, central bank policies and geopolitical developments all play an important role in determining retail gold rates across India.

As these factors change from one trading session to another, gold prices are revised accordingly, even if demand at jewellery stores remains stable.

Conclusion

Gold prices in Bangalore continued to soften on Tuesday, with 24K gold falling to ₹14,280 per gram and 22K gold easing to ₹13,090 per gram. While today’s decline was relatively small, it extends the broader correction seen over the past week and leaves prices well below the highs recorded earlier this month. Buyers who waited for the rally to cool may now find current rates more favourable, while investors will be watching global market trends for clues on where gold heads next.
