Bangalore, July 28: Gold prices in Bangalore fell sharply on Tuesday, snapping the recovery seen in the previous session. Rates declined across all three purity categories, with 24K gold losing ₹172 per gram in a single day.

The 24-karat gold rate stands at ₹14,417 per gram, down from ₹14,589 on Monday. The 22-karat rate has dropped ₹155 to ₹13,215 per gram, while 18-karat gold is cheaper by ₹126 at ₹10,813 per gram.

The decline comes after gold had gained ground on July 27. Prices have moved back and forth sharply over the past week, including a ₹229 jump on July 22 and a ₹185 decline just two days later.

22K Gold ₹13,215 -₹155

Gold Gives Up the Previous Session’s Gains

Tuesday’s correction has more than erased Monday’s rise, when 24K gold gained ₹96 to ₹14,589 per gram.

Recent price action has been anything but one-way. The 24K rate climbed from ₹14,346 on July 20 to ₹14,651 on July 22 before losing ground over the following sessions. After dropping to ₹14,433 on July 24, prices recovered to ₹14,589 by Monday.

That recovery proved short-lived. At ₹14,417 on Tuesday, 24K gold is now ₹234 per gram below its July 22 level.

What Would 10 Grams of 22K Jewellery Cost Today?

For jewellery buyers, the per-gram gold rate is only the starting point. Making charges and GST increase the final amount paid at the store.

At the current 22K rate, 10 grams of gold is valued at ₹1,32,150. Assuming 12% making charges and 3% GST, the estimated bill works out to:

Component Amount
Gold value ₹1,32,150
Making charges (12%) ₹15,858
GST (3%) ₹4,440
Estimated final amount ₹1,52,448

The actual bill may differ depending on making charges, wastage, jewellery design and other charges applied by the seller.

10-Day Gold Price Trend

July 28: ₹14,417 (-₹172)

July 27: ₹14,589 (+₹96)

July 26: ₹14,493 (No change)

July 25: ₹14,493 (+₹60)

July 24: ₹14,433 (-₹185)

July 23: ₹14,618 (-₹33)

July 22: ₹14,651 (+₹229)

July 21: ₹14,422 (+₹76)

July 20: ₹14,346 (+₹17)

July 19: ₹14,329 (No change)

The numbers underline how choppy gold has been lately. Prices climbed for several sessions through July 22, then gave up a large part of those gains before attempting another recovery over the weekend and on Monday.

Tuesday’s ₹172 fall has interrupted that rebound. Still, 24K gold remains ₹88 above its July 19 rate.

Recent Gold Price Performance

Particulars 24K Gold 22K Gold
July 19 Price ₹14,329 ₹13,135
July 28 Price ₹14,417 ₹13,215
10-Day High ₹14,651 (July 22) ₹13,430 (July 22)
10-Day Low ₹14,329 (July 19) ₹13,135 (July 19)
Change since July 19 +₹88 +₹80

Despite Tuesday’s steep decline, gold has not completely surrendered the gains made over the 10-day period. The 24K rate is ₹88 higher than on July 19, while 22K gold is up ₹80.

For jewellery buyers, however, the daily fall is meaningful. Ten grams of 22K gold now costs ₹1,550 less than it did on Monday, before making charges and taxes are added.

Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?

Gold rates can change daily because local prices are tied closely to developments in the international bullion market. Movements in global gold prices and the rupee-dollar exchange rate can quickly feed into rates paid by Indian buyers.

Interest-rate expectations, inflation, geopolitical uncertainty and central bank activity can also influence bullion prices. Domestic import costs, taxes and local market conditions add another layer to the final retail rate.

Conclusion

Gold prices in Bangalore came under heavy pressure on July 28, with 24K gold dropping ₹172 to ₹14,417 per gram and 22K gold falling ₹155 to ₹13,215. The decline wiped out Monday’s gains and pushed prices ₹234 below the recent 24K high of ₹14,651 seen on July 22.

The broader 10-day picture remains mixed, however. Gold is still slightly above its July 19 level, but repeated gains and declines over the past week show that prices remain volatile. Buyers tracking jewellery costs may find Tuesday’s correction useful, particularly after the rebound seen in the previous session.
