Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?
Gold rates in Chennai are influenced by a mix of international and domestic factors. Global bullion prices are a key driver, but movements in the rupee against the US dollar can also affect how much imported gold costs in India.
Interest-rate expectations, inflation, geopolitical developments and central bank demand can further influence bullion prices. This combination means local gold rates can change considerably from one session to the next, as the movements over the past week have shown.
Conclusion
Gold prices in Chennai recovered further on July 27, with 24K gold rising ₹77 to ₹14,586 per gram. The 22K rate climbed ₹70 to ₹13,370, while 18K gold advanced ₹70 to ₹11,185.
The latest increase extends the recovery from Friday’s steep sell-off, but prices have not completely regained the ground lost during that session. With 24K gold still ₹142 below its July 23 level, buyers are seeing rates below last week’s peak even after the latest rebound.
