Delhi, August 10: Gold prices in Delhi moved lower on Monday, with rates falling across all major purity categories. The decline comes after gold held steady over the weekend and follows a strong rally earlier in August.
According to today’s retail rates, 24-karat gold is priced at ₹15,212 per gram, down ₹43 from the previous session. 22-karat gold fell ₹40 to ₹13,945 per gram, while 18-karat gold declined ₹33 to ₹11,413 per gram.
The pullback comes after 24K gold reached ₹15,255 per gram on August 8 and August 9. So while today’s rates are lower, gold remains close to its recent high and well above the levels seen at the start of the month.
Delhi Gold Rate Today
| Purity | Price per gram | Change |
| 24K Gold | ₹15,212 | -₹43 |

Gold Pulls Back After Touching ₹15,255
Gold’s August run has been strong, but Monday brought a noticeable pause.
The month started with 24K gold at ₹14,437 per gram. Prices dipped to ₹14,415 on August 4 before quickly turning higher. From there, gold rallied sharply, crossing ₹15,000 and reaching ₹15,255 by August 8.
Today’s ₹43 decline takes some heat out of that rally, but it doesn’t erase the gains built up over the past week.
In fact, 24K gold is still ₹775 per gram above its August 1 level. That means buyers are still facing significantly higher prices than they were at the beginning of the month, even after today’s correction.
Gold Price in Delhi Per Gram

What Would 10 Grams of 22K Jewellery Cost Today?
The quoted gold rate isn’t the final price you’ll pay at a jewellery store. Making charges and GST are added to the value of the gold.

| Component | Amount |
| Gold value | ₹1,39,450 |
| Making charges (12%) | ₹16,734 |
| GST (3%) | ₹4,686 |
| Estimated final amount | ₹1,60,870 |
The actual bill may vary depending on the jeweller, design, wastage charges and applicable making charges.

The 10-day trend shows a sharp turnaround in gold prices after the brief weakness seen at the start of the month. From August 4 to August 8, 24K gold jumped ₹840 per gram, moving from ₹14,415 to ₹15,255.
Prices then stayed unchanged for a day before today’s correction. The latest move is relatively small compared with the gains accumulated during the rally.
August Performance So Far
| Particulars | 24K Gold | 22K Gold |
| August 1 Price | ₹14,437 | ₹13,235 |
| August 10 Price | ₹15,212 | ₹13,945 |
| Highest in August | ₹15,255 (Aug. 8–9) | ₹13,985 (Aug. 9) |
| Lowest in August | ₹14,415 (Aug. 4) | ₹13,215 (Aug. 4) |
| Monthly Trend | +5.37% | +5.37% |
Gold has gained more than 5% in Delhi since the start of August, even after today’s decline. The bulk of the move came during the sharp rally between August 4 and August 8.
For now, gold remains close to its monthly high. Whether today’s fall develops into a deeper correction or simply marks a short pause will depend on how global bullion markets behave in the coming sessions.

Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?
Gold rates are influenced by several domestic and international factors. Global bullion prices, movements in the Indian rupee against the US dollar, inflation expectations, interest-rate decisions, central bank activity and geopolitical developments can all affect domestic gold prices.
This is why prices can change from one day to the next even when local jewellery demand remains relatively stable.
Conclusion
Gold prices in Delhi fell on Monday, with 24K gold declining ₹43 to ₹15,212 per gram and 22K gold dropping ₹40 to ₹13,945 per gram. 18K gold also slipped to ₹11,413 per gram.
Despite today’s decline, gold remains 5.37% higher than its August 1 level and is still close to its monthly peak of ₹15,255. After the sharp rally seen earlier in the month, some consolidation is understandable.
For buyers, the next few sessions will be important in determining whether gold settles around current levels or resumes its upward move.
