Delhi, August 6: Gold prices moved higher in Delhi on Thursday, extending the rebound that began a day earlier as buying interest returned to the bullion market. After spending the first few days of August in a narrow range, the latest rally has pushed gold close to the ₹15,000-per-gram mark, giving the market its strongest footing so far this month.
According to today’s retail rates, 24-karat gold is priced at ₹14,986 per gram, up ₹287 from the previous session. 22-karat gold has increased by ₹265 to ₹13,740 per gram, while 18-karat gold is trading at ₹11,245 per gram, higher by ₹217.
The back-to-back gains suggest the recent pullback has largely faded, with bullion regaining momentum after a brief period of subdued trading. For buyers who waited for prices to cool, the latest move signals that gold has once again started inching higher.
Delhi Gold Rate Today
| Purity | Price per gram | Change |
| 24K Gold | ₹14,986 | +₹287 |
| 22K Gold | ₹13,740 | +₹265 |
| 18K Gold | ₹11,245 | +₹217 |
Gold Inches Closer to the ₹15,000 Mark
After remaining largely range-bound through the opening days of August, gold has found fresh momentum over the last two trading sessions.
The recovery has been steady rather than abrupt. Prices barely moved between August 2 and August 4 before Wednesday’s gains set the tone for another strong session on Thursday. With today’s rise, 24K gold is now just ₹14 away from the ₹15,000 milestone, highlighting how quickly sentiment has shifted in favour of the precious metal.
While jewellery buyers may have hoped for a deeper correction, the latest rebound indicates that demand has remained resilient despite recent fluctuations.
Gold Price in Delhi Per Gram
| Weight | 24K Gold | 22K Gold | 18K Gold |

What Would 10 Grams of 22K Jewellery Cost Today?
The quoted gold rate reflects only the value of the metal. The final amount paid at a jewellery store also includes making charges and GST.
Based on today’s rate, assuming 12% making charges and 3% GST, here’s an estimate:
| Component | Amount |
| Gold value | ₹1,37,400 |
| Making charges (12%) | ₹16,488 |
| GST (3%) | ₹4,617 |
| Estimated final amount | ₹1,58,505 |
The final bill may vary depending on the jeweller, jewellery design, wastage charges and making charges applicable.
10-Day Gold Price Trend
| Date | 24K Gold |
| Aug. 6 | ₹14,986 (+₹287) |
| Aug. 5 | ₹14,699 (+₹284) |
| Aug. 4 | ₹14,415 (-₹22) |

| Aug. 1 | ₹14,437 (-₹38) |
| Jul. 31 | ₹14,475 (+₹27) |
| Jul. 30 | ₹14,448 (+₹82) |
| Jul. 29 | ₹14,366 (-₹66) |
| Jul. 28 | ₹14,432 (-₹172) |
The past 10 trading sessions show that gold has largely traded without a clear direction before staging a decisive turnaround this week. Prices remained almost unchanged for two straight days before gathering momentum on Wednesday and accelerating further on Thursday. The latest rally has wiped out the weakness seen at the beginning of August and lifted bullion to its strongest level in the current 10-day period.
August Performance So Far
| Particulars | 24K Gold | 22K Gold |
| August 1 Price | ₹14,437 | ₹13,235 |
| August 6 Price | ₹14,986 | ₹13,740 |
| Highest in August | ₹14,986 (Aug. 6) | ₹13,740 (Aug. 6) |
| Lowest in August | ₹14,415 (Aug. 4) | ₹13,215 (Aug. 4) |
| Monthly Trend | +3.80% | +3.82% |
The first week of August has been a story of patience for gold buyers. After a brief pause in prices, the market has bounced back strongly, with bullion now trading well above where it started the month. The recovery also means that anyone waiting for a prolonged correction has seen that window narrow considerably over the last two sessions.

Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?
Gold prices are influenced by much more than local jewellery demand. Daily movements are driven by international bullion prices, fluctuations in the Indian rupee against the US dollar, import duties, inflation expectations, central bank policy decisions and geopolitical developments.
As these factors change, domestic gold rates are revised accordingly, often leading to noticeable price swings even when demand at the retail level remains relatively stable.
Conclusion
Gold prices in Delhi continued their upward momentum on Thursday, with 24K gold rising to ₹14,986 per gram and 22K gold reaching ₹13,740 per gram. The second consecutive day of gains has brought bullion within touching distance of the ₹15,000 mark, reinforcing the recovery seen this week. Market participants will now watch global gold prices, currency movements and upcoming economic data to gauge whether the rally has further room to run or settles into a more stable range.
