Delhi, August 7: Gold prices in the national capital edged higher on Friday, extending this week’s rally into a third straight session. While the latest increase was modest compared with the sharp gains seen over the previous two days, it was enough to lift 24-karat gold above the ₹15,000-per-gram mark, a level last seen before the recent correction.
According to today’s retail rates, 24-karat gold is priced at ₹15,004 per gram, up ₹18 from Thursday. 22-karat gold has increased by ₹15 to ₹13,755 per gram, while 18-karat gold now trades at ₹11,257 per gram, higher by ₹12.
The pace of the rally may have eased, but the trend remains intact. After rebounding strongly over the past two sessions, gold has continued to push higher, with buyers showing little urgency to book profits despite prices returning to monthly highs.

| 22K Gold | ₹13,755 | +₹15 |

Gold Moves Above ₹15,000, but the Rally Is Cooling
The market is still moving higher—but at a much steadier pace.
After adding nearly ₹570 per gram over the previous two sessions, Friday’s increase was relatively modest. Even so, the latest uptick carries significance as it pushes 24K gold back above the ₹15,000 mark, reinforcing the strength of the recovery that began earlier this week.
For buyers hoping for another pullback, that hasn’t materialised yet. Instead, gold has managed to hold on to almost all of its recent gains, suggesting sentiment remains firmly in favour of the precious metal.

The last 10 trading sessions show how quickly the market has turned around. Gold spent the opening days of August moving in a narrow range before staging a strong recovery this week. While Friday’s increase was much smaller than those seen on Wednesday and Thursday, prices continue to trend higher and are now sitting at their strongest level of the month.
August Performance So Far
| Particulars | 24K Gold | 22K Gold |
| August 1 Price | ₹14,437 | ₹13,235 |
| August 7 Price | ₹15,004 | ₹13,755 |
| Highest in August | ₹15,004 (Aug. 7) | ₹13,755 (Aug. 7) |
| Lowest in August | ₹14,415 (Aug. 4) | ₹13,215 (Aug. 4) |
| Monthly Trend | +3.93% | +3.93% |
Gold’s August journey has been anything but one-sided. Prices weakened during the opening sessions before staging a sharp rebound that erased all of those losses within a matter of days. Friday’s move above ₹15,000 per gram underlines just how quickly market sentiment has shifted in favour of buyers.

Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?
Gold prices are influenced by a range of domestic and international factors. Global bullion prices, movements in the rupee against the US dollar, inflation expectations, central bank policies, import duties and geopolitical developments all contribute to daily price movements.
Even when local jewellery demand remains stable, changes in these factors can push gold prices higher or lower.
Conclusion
Gold prices in Delhi extended their recovery on Friday, with 24K gold climbing to ₹15,004 per gram and 22K gold reaching ₹13,755 per gram. Although the pace of gains has slowed after this week’s sharp rally, the market continues to hold near its monthly highs, reflecting resilient demand and positive sentiment. The next direction for gold will depend on global bullion prices, currency movements and broader economic developments.
