18K gold also moved higher, gaining ₹237 to ₹11,635 per gram.
The rise comes after a softer session on August 10, when 24K gold fell ₹38 per gram. Today’s move has more than erased that decline and taken the rate back above the ₹15,500 mark.

What Today’s Rise Means for Buyers
Today’s ₹316 jump in 24K gold means the quoted value of 10 grams has increased by ₹3,160 compared with the previous session, before making charges and taxes.
For jewellery buyers, however, the per-gram rate doesn’t tell the whole story. Making charges can vary significantly based on the design and jeweller, while GST and other applicable charges are added to the bill.
So, when comparing jewellery prices, it’s better to look at the final payable amount rather than the gold rate alone.
