Mumbai, July 10: Gold prices in Mumbai moved higher on Friday, extending the recovery seen in the previous session. The latest retail rate for 24-karat gold stands at ₹14,482 per gram, up ₹38 from Thursday.
22-karat gold is now priced at ₹13,275 per gram, higher by ₹35, while 18-karat gold rose ₹29 to ₹10,862 per gram. The rise is modest, but it gives the market a second straight day of gains after the sharp fall recorded earlier this week.

Prices Recover After Mid-Week Weakness
Mumbai’s gold market has had a choppy start to July. Prices jumped sharply on July 2 and July 3, with 24K gold touching ₹14,700 per gram, the highest level so far this month. That rally did not hold for long.
Rates softened from July 4 onwards, slipped heavily on July 8, and then began to recover on July 9. Friday’s rise keeps that rebound alive, though prices are still below the July 3 peak.

| Component | Amount |
| Base value | ₹1,32,750 |
| Making charges | ₹15,930 |

| Total estimated cost | ₹1,53,140 |
This is an indicative calculation. The final jewellery bill may vary depending on making charges, design, wastage and the retailer’s billing policy.
Mumbai Gold Price Trend
The 10-day price table shows how uneven the movement has been. 24K gold stood at ₹14,078 per gram on July 1, climbed to ₹14,700 on July 3, slipped to ₹14,313 on July 8, and has now recovered to ₹14,482.
For 22K gold, the rate moved from ₹12,905 on July 1 to ₹13,475 on July 3 before easing to ₹13,120 on July 8. Friday’s rate of ₹13,275 is still comfortably above the month’s opening level, but the early-July peak remains some distance away.
What Drives Gold Prices?
Gold prices in Mumbai are influenced by international bullion rates, rupee-dollar movement, import costs and demand from the domestic jewellery market. Local retail quotes can also differ slightly because making charges and store-level pricing are not uniform.
Conclusion
Gold prices in Mumbai rose on July 10, with 24K, 22K and 18K gold all posting gains from Thursday’s levels. The move adds to Thursday’s rebound, although prices remain below the high touched on July 3. For buyers, the daily rate offers a useful starting point, but making charges and GST will still decide the final amount paid at the counter.
