Gold prices in Mumbai saw only a marginal increase on July 21, with 24K gold rising to ₹14,347 per gram. Rates across all purity categories were up by just ₹1, indicating that the market has remained largely steady after the fluctuations witnessed over the past week.

Mumbai, July 21: Gold prices in Mumbai recorded another quiet session on Tuesday, with retail rates moving up by just ₹1 per gram across all major purity categories. The increase was modest, but it extended the positive movement seen over the last two trading sessions.
According to today’s rates, 24-karat gold is selling at ₹14,347 per gram, up by ₹1 from Monday. 22-karat gold has climbed to ₹13,151 per gram, while 18-karat gold is now priced at ₹10,760 per gram, also higher by ₹1.
The market has slowed considerably compared to the sharp swings seen earlier in July. Over the past few days, daily changes have been minimal, suggesting that both buyers and traders are waiting for fresh global cues before prices make a stronger move in either direction.

Gold Prices Have Stabilised After a Volatile Start to July
The first half of July saw gold prices move sharply in both directions, making it difficult for buyers to judge the right time to purchase. That pace has eased over the past few sessions.
Instead of large gains or losses, prices are now changing only by a few rupees each day. Tuesday’s ₹1 increase is another sign that the market is taking a breather after last week’s fluctuations.

Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?
Gold prices are influenced by several domestic and global factors. International bullion rates, the rupee’s movement against the US dollar, import duties, inflation expectations, central bank policy decisions and geopolitical developments all contribute to daily price movements. As these factors change, retail gold prices across Indian cities are updated accordingly.
Conclusion
Gold prices in Mumbai remained almost unchanged on July 21, with all three purity categories gaining just ₹1 per gram. While the increase is minor, it reflects the steady tone that has returned to the market after a volatile first half of the month. Unless fresh global developments influence bullion prices, gold is likely to continue trading within a limited range in the near term.
