Gold Recovers After July 24 Selloff
Gold prices in Bangalore have seen sharp swings over the past week.
The 24K rate was at ₹14,329 per gram on July 19 before beginning a three-day climb. It rose to ₹14,346 on July 20 and ₹14,422 on July 21, before jumping ₹229 to ₹14,651 on July 22.
The direction changed soon after. Gold slipped ₹33 on July 23 and then fell ₹185 on July 24, taking the 24K rate down to ₹14,433 per gram.
Prices began to recover on July 25, gaining ₹60 to ₹14,493. There was no change on July 26, before Monday’s ₹96 rise pushed the rate to ₹14,589.
That still leaves 24K gold ₹62 below its July 22 level, but the gap has narrowed considerably after the recent rebound.

The actual jewellery bill will be higher because making charges and GST are added to the underlying value of the gold. Assuming making charges of 12% and GST of 3%, the estimated cost works out to:

Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?
Gold prices in Bangalore are influenced by more than demand at local jewellery stores. International bullion prices and movements in the rupee against the US dollar are important factors because India relies heavily on imported gold.
Interest-rate expectations, inflation, central bank policies, geopolitical developments and changes in investment demand can also influence prices. These factors can shift quickly, which is why local gold rates sometimes record sharp moves from one session to the next.
Conclusion
Gold prices in Bangalore strengthened on July 27, with 24K gold rising ₹96 to ₹14,589 per gram and 22K gold gaining ₹85 to ₹13,370. The 18K rate also moved up ₹69 to ₹10,939 per gram.
The latest increase continues the recovery from the July 24 decline, although prices have not yet returned to the recent high seen on July 22. After several sharp moves in both directions, buyers may want to keep an eye on daily rates rather than assume the current recovery will continue at the same pace.
