Gold’s Latest Move in Perspective

Today’s rise of ₹316 in 24K gold is considerably larger than the usual day-to-day changes seen in the data.

For 22K gold, the increase of ₹290 takes the rate to ₹14,220 per gram, while 18K gold has moved up to ₹11,635 per gram.

That means buyers looking at physical gold today are facing a noticeably higher entry price than they did in the previous session.

At the same time, investors who already hold gold are seeing the value of their holdings rise along with the latest move.

Why Do Gold Prices Change Every Day?

Gold rates in India are influenced by a mix of global and domestic factors. International bullion prices, the rupee’s movement against the US dollar, interest-rate expectations, inflation, central-bank buying and geopolitical developments can all affect the price.

This is why gold can move sharply from one session to the next, even when jewellery demand on the ground hasn’t changed much.

Conclusion

Gold prices in India saw a strong jump on August 11, with 24K gold rising ₹316 to ₹15,513 per gram. 22K gold climbed ₹290 to ₹14,220, while 18K gold gained ₹237 to ₹11,635 per gram.

Today’s move marks a clear rebound after the previous session’s softer prices. With 10 grams of 22K gold now costing ₹1,42,200 before making charges and GST, buyers are likely to feel the impact of the higher rates directly in their jewellery bills.

The next few sessions will be important to see whether this sharp move has further room to run or whether gold settles after today’s jump.
