Gold Rate Today: What Buyers Should Keep in Mind
The latest increase means buyers are paying more than they were at the previous rate, but a single day’s movement should not be treated as a signal that prices will necessarily continue in the same direction.
For jewellery buyers, the headline gold rate is only one part of the final bill. Making charges can differ substantially between jewellers and designs, so comparing the complete invoice is more useful than comparing only the per-gram gold rate.
Those buying gold as an investment should also consider their time horizon and the fact that gold prices can move sharply in either direction.
Bottom Line
Gold prices strengthened across India on August 12, 2026, with 24K gold at ₹15,486 per gram, up ₹104 from the previous rate. 22K gold is priced at ₹14,195 per gram, while 18K gold stands at ₹11,614.
For 10 grams, the base price is ₹1,54,860 for 24K gold and ₹1,41,950 for 22K gold. Among the major cities tracked, Delhi currently has the highest 24K rate at ₹15,528 per gram.
Before buying, consumers should remember that the displayed rates are indicative. GST, making charges, TCS and other applicable costs can push the final amount above the headline gold price.
Gold rates are indicative and can vary by city, jeweller and product. The rates shown above do not include GST, TCS, making charges or other applicable levies unless specifically stated.
