Gold Rate Today, July 3, 2026: Gold Price Rebounds Rs 3,020 per 10 gram as Bargain Hunting Returns After Two-Day Slide

Mumbai, July 3: Gold prices surged higher on Friday by Rs 3,020 to Rs 1,43,790 for 10 grams of 24 karat gold (99.9% purity) after two days of decline reversing the earlier bout of selling which saw investors book profits for the third straight session following last week’s rally driven by geopolitical tensions in West Asia. 

Gold prices recovered Rs 3,020 to Rs 1,43,790 for 10 grams of 24 karat gold (99.9% purity). The price of 22 karat gold (91.6% purity) climbed Rs 2,770 to Rs 1,31,810 for 10 grams, while that for 18 karat gold (75% purity) gained Rs 2,270 to Rs 1,07,850 per 10 grams from their respective closing levels on Thursday. 

At the close of trade on Thursday, gold prices ended lower by Rs 1,280 as investors trimmed exposure for a third straight session after last week’s sharp gains as triggered by tensions in West Asia – the Iran nuclear standoff. Safe-haven demand seemed to ebb away and investors appeared to firmly book profits by Thursday’s close, with prices sinking below the Rs 1,42,000-mark.

The latest turnaround could point to bargain hunters returning after gold corrected over three sessions, though the broader sentiment surrounding tensions in West Asia continue to remain volatile on swings between cautious optimism and renewed fears after this week’s talks over Strait of Hormuz ended inconclusively in Doha. 

Among India’s major cities, Chennai continued to lead the country with the costliest price for 10 grams of gold at Rs 1,46,190 for 24 karat gold, Rs 1,34,010 for 22 karat gold and Rs 1,11,610 for 18 karat gold. The Chennai price for 24 karat gold was up Rs 2,400 premium to India’s national benchmark price of Rs 1,43,790 for 10 grams. 

Delhi was next with 24 karat gold selling at Rs 1,43,940, 22 karat gold at Rs 1,31,960 and 18 karat gold at Rs 1,08,000 for 10 grams, translating to a premium of Rs 150 over the national price for 24 karat gold. The spread between Delhi gold prices and the national benchmark remained largely unchanged through the week even as national price moved sharply both ways.

Regional prices in Vadodara and Ahmedabad were barely Rs 50 higher than the national benchmark price, with rates for 24 karat gold being quoted at Rs 1,43,840, 22 karat gold at Rs 1,31,860 and 18 karat gold at Rs 1,07,900 for 10 grams. 

Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kerala and Pune quoted exactly the same as the national price of Rs 1,43,790, Rs 1,31,810 and Rs 1,07,850 for 24 karat, 22 karat and 18 karat gold respectively for 10 grams.
