Mumbai, June 23: Gold prices edged higher for the second consecutive session on Tuesday, continuing a tentative recovery from Friday’s steep Iran ceasefire-driven selloff, though the gains remained modest as the market digested the still-fragile geopolitical outlook.
The national rate for 10 grams of 24 karat gold (99.9% purity) rose ₹450 to ₹1,46,520, building on Monday’s ₹210 recovery. The 10-gram rate for 22 karat gold (91.6% purity) climbed ₹420 to ₹1,34,310, while 18 karat gold (75% purity) added ₹340 to ₹1,09,890 per 10 grams. The back-to-back gains suggest a slow but steady return of buying interest, even as the broader sentiment around the metal remains subdued following last week’s ceasefire-triggered rout that wiped over ₹5,000 per 10 grams in a single session.

The 10-gram rate for 24 karat gold in Chennai stood at ₹1,48,360, with 22 karat at ₹1,35,990 and 18 karat at ₹1,13,690 on Tuesday, which is a premium of roughly ₹1,840 over the national baseline on the 24 karat rate and reflecting consistently higher local levies in Tamil Nadu.
Delhi gold prices came in marginally above the national rate, with 24 karat at ₹1,46,670, 22 karat at ₹1,34,460 and 18 karat at ₹1,10,040 per 10 grams.
