New Delhi, September 15, 2025: The Indian government has announced that it has reopened the application window for the Production Linked incentive Scheme. The reopened PLI is for white Goods covering Air Conditioners and LED Lights. The Indian government has reopened the scheme for 30 days, starting from today, till October 14, 2025. Interested entities can apply for the PLI through the online portal by visiting https://pliwg.dpiit.gov.in/ on or before the last date.

Both New Applicants and Existing Beneficiaries Can Apply

Under the PLI scheme, both new applicants and existing beneficiaries can apply for the scheme. Existing beneficiaries are eligible to apply if they are looking to invest more money by switching to a higher target segment. Furthermore, group companies are eligible to apply if they apply under a different target segment. The eligibility conditions are specified as per Paragraph 5.6 of the Scheme Guidelines. They are specified with adherence to investment schedules in Appendix 1 or Appendix 1A, as applicable.

Incentive Tenure for Fourth Round

The Indian government has specified that the incentives are available only for the remaining tenure of the scheme. New applicants and beneficiaries who are choosing GP 2 up to March 2023 and are shifting to a higher investment category will be eligible for incentives for a maximum of two years.

On the other hand, beneficiaries who are opting for GP 1 up to March 2022 and are shifting to a higher investment category will be eligible for incentives for a maximum of one year.

If existing beneficiaries who choose any of the above but do not meet threshold investment or sales in any given year, they have the option to submit claims as per their original plans. However, the scheme allows this flexibility only once during the period of the scheme.

83 Applicants Selected So Far

So far, 83 applicants have been selected under the scheme and they have committed an investment aggregating ₹10,406 crore. The scheme, which is regarding the components and sub-assemblies of ACs and LED Lights, was approved on April 7, 2021. The scheme has a tenure of seven years, starting from FY 2021-22 to FY 2028-29. The scheme has an outlay of ₹6,238 crore.
