HCC Secures ₹2,566 Crore Patna Metro Contracts; Stock Jumps Over 2.8%

Mumbai, September 23, 2025 — Hindustan Construction Company Limited (NSE: HCC, BSE: 500185) closed with a 2.8% gain in today’s trade after announcing it has secured two major contracts worth ₹2,566 crore from the Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL).
Key Contract Details
As part of the ongoing Patna Metro development, significant underground construction contracts have been awarded under two major packages:
- Package PC-05: Valued at ₹1,418.30 crore, this package covers the construction of twin tunnels using a shield tunnel boring machine (TBM), a cut-and-cover tunnel, and a ramp at Mithapur. The stations included under this scope are Vikas Bhawan, Vidyut Bhawan, and Patna Station.
- Package PC-06: Estimated at ₹1,147.51 crore, this contract involves building an underground ramp at Rukanpura, twin tunnels, and undertaking architectural finishing and utility works. The package will cover Rukanpura, Raja Bazar, and Patna Zoo stations.
Total length of 10.67 km of underground tunnels using Tunnel Boring Machines. Construction includes six metro stations under Phase I of Patna Metro. Scope extends to architectural finishing, water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems. These developments mark a key step in strengthening the city’s metro network and improving urban connectivity.
Share Price Update
Hindustan Construction Company shares closed at ₹29.43, which is a 2.87% gain on September 23, 2025. Hindustan Construction Company’s shares opened at ₹28.63 in the latest session, hitting an intraday high of ₹30.00 and a low of ₹27.81. The company commands a market capitalization of around ₹5,360 crore. At present, the stock trades at a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 30.25. Over the past 52 weeks, the stock has moved between a low of ₹21.97 and a high of ₹47.85.
Strategic Outlook
With this win, HCC strengthens its position in India’s metro infrastructure space, where it is already executing projects such as:
- Mumbai Metro Line III (4 km twin tunnels, 4 stations).
- Indore Metro Phase I (5.66 km twin tunnels, 7 underground stations).
- Two packages of Chennai Metro.
HCC has historically delivered landmark metro projects, including Delhi Metro, Bangalore Metro, Mumbai Metro Line I, and Kolkata Metro.
