New Delhi, November 26, 2025: Hi-Tech Pipes Limited’s share price surged over 2% on Wednesday, closing at ₹103.45. The stock opened at ₹100.71 and touched an intraday high of ₹103.45, reflecting renewed investor confidence following the company’s announcement that commercial production has begun at its Sanand, Gujarat, Unit II Phase II plant. Trading activity was robust, with a volume-weighted average price (VWAP) of ₹102.16, highlighting strong buying and selling interest throughout the session.

Sanand Unit II Phase II Point of Commercial Production

The company affirmed that it has started its commercial operations at its brownfield expansion facility in Sanand. The new step will add 1 lakh MTPA of production capacity, enabling the company to produce larger-diameter ERW pipes and jumbo hollow-section fabrication, as well as structural and fabrication-grade steel products. The facility is located strategically to offer a great deal of logistical benefits, which means that Hi-Tech Pipes will become more effective in the delivery of high-growth industrial centers of Gujarat, as well as other nearby states.

Capacity Expansion and Investment Details

The Phase II expansion raises the total capacity of the Sanand unit from 1.70 lakh MTPA to 2.70 lakh MTPA. The project involved an investment of ₹63 crore, fully funded through internal accruals and equity. On a consolidated basis, the company’s installed capacity increases from 7.50 lakh MTPA to 8.50 lakh MTPA, positioning Hi-Tech Pipes for stronger growth in the coming years. Before this expansion, the unit was operating at approximately 60% utilization, leaving substantial room to accommodate increased demand.

Managerial Perspective

Ajay Kumar Bansal, Chairman and Managing Director, termed the milestone as an important move to enhance the presence of the company in Western India. He underlined that the current technologies and the new plant’s increased efficiency will allow Hi-Tech Pipes to serve the solar engineering, fabrication, and infrastructure industries more effectively, increase its export prospects, and improve its long-term growth prospects.
