Mumbai, September 1: Shares of hydraulic fitting manufacturer Hy-Tech Engineers made a strong debut on the stock exchanges on September 1, listing at a 41.5% premium to the IPO price on the NSE after the Rs 136-crore initial public offering attracted overwhelming investor demand.
The stock opened at Rs 75 per share on the NSE, compared with the IPO price of Rs 53, while it debuted at Rs 72 on the BSE, representing a 35.9% premium. The company’s post-listing market capitalisation stood at around Rs 683 crore.
Hy-Tech Engineers IPO Subscription
The strong listing followed exceptional demand for the IPO, which was subscribed 244.41 times during the August 24-27 bidding period. The issue had a price band of Rs 50-53 per share.
The sharp oversubscription highlights strong investor appetite for the issue, although the stock’s post-listing performance will depend on whether the company can sustain its operating growth and justify the valuation at which it has entered the market.
Where Will Hy-Tech Engineers Use IPO Money?
Hy-Tech Engineers plans to deploy around Rs 29.96 crore from the IPO proceeds towards buying machinery and equipment for expansion at its Kavathe, Shirwal and Pithampur-I units.
Another Rs 16 crore will be used to repay loans, while the remaining proceeds will go towards general corporate purposes.
The planned capacity expansion is aimed at supporting the company’s manufacturing operations and allowing it to cater to rising demand from industrial customers.
What Does Hy-Tech Engineers Do?
Hy-Tech Engineers operates a business-to-business manufacturing model, supplying hydraulic fittings and related products to original equipment manufacturers and other industrial customers.
The Maharashtra-based company serves both domestic and international markets, giving it exposure to industrial demand across multiple geographies.
Its customer base and export exposure could provide growth opportunities as industrial activity and capital expenditure remain supportive. However, investors will need to monitor execution of the planned expansion, debt levels and the company’s ability to maintain profitability as it scales up operations.
Hy-Tech Engineers
The strong debut gives early investors a sizeable listing gain, but the 41.5% premium also means that much of the initial optimism around the IPO is already reflected in the stock price.
With the stock now trading well above its Rs 53 IPO price, the focus will shift from listing gains to the company’s ability to deliver sustained earnings growth and execute its expansion plans.
