New Delhi, November 18, 2025 – Piyush Goyal, the Commerce and Industry Minister, said that the India-U.S. trade negotiations are furthering in a positive direction. He further added that the government will announce once both countries reach a fair, balanced, and equitable agreement.

In his speech at the Indo-U.S. Economic Summit in New Delhi, Piyush Goyal stressed that India remains committed to protecting the interests of farmers, fishermen, and small industries. He noted that these industries play a crucial role in shaping the deal. He explained that trade negotiations are very complex and need to consider the needs of different domestic sectors.

Piyush Goyal reaffirmed that India will positively support the agreement as it aligns with the priorities of the nation. He also noted that the talks have progressed steadily. It had had six rounds of negotiations completed since March.

Piyush Goyal stated that the government is working proactively to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome and expressed high confidence that a positive announcement will be made once the agreement meets the country’s expectations. The proposed trade pact aims to fuel economic cooperation between India and the U.S., with both sides addressing key issues and expanding their market access.
