Wholesale price inflation is inflation at the wholesale level or producer level, before the goods are sold to final consumers. A decline in wholesale price inflation gets translated into decline in retail inflation too. The slowing of wholesale inflation in April may therefore also be good news for retail inflation. Decline in retail inflation will be a boost to the economy at this time.
