Investor Takeaway
It is a common outcome for a stock price to rise or fall based on external news. The same has happened today, as news reports are suggesting that Indian Continent Investment is planning to sell a major stake in Bharti Airtel, valued at around USD 806 million. The stake sale by a big investment firm can either be due to weak growth prospects, or just an adjustment to the holding to book profits. However, investors have taken the news negatively, leading to a share price fall. It is expected that Bharti Airtel will provide a clarification soon on the reports.
