Indian Equity Markets May Start The Day In Red As Oil Prices Jump After US Bombing Of Iran

After the bombing of nuclear sites of Iran by USA, the focus in now on how Iran will respond. Iranian missile attacks against Israel, after US bombing, have injured around 86 people in Israel. US President Donald Trump said that a regime change in Iran will be done, if the current regime does not end the ongoing conflict through talks. 

Oil prices jumped after the US bombing. At 8:46 a.m. IST, 23rd June, 2025, WTI crude for August delivery is up by 1.95% , trading at $75.25 per barrel. Brent crude for August delivery is up by 1.8%, trading at $78.39 per barrel.  

US markets ended Friday, 20th June, on a mixed not. That was before the US bombing of Iran late Saturday night. Nasdaq ended the day, down by 98.86 points or 0.51%. Dow Jones ended the day, up by 35.16 points or 0.083%. S&P 500 ended the day, down by 13.03 points or 0.22%. 

Chinese equity markets have opened in green today 

Chinese markets have opened in green today.  This may be because of the expectation that with US military involvement in Israel, Iran conflict, President Trump may go soft and slow on increasing tariffs. At 8:50 a.m. IST, 23rd June, Hang Seng is up by 37.57 points or 0.16%. Shanghai index is up by 7.78 points or 0.23%. 

 Other Asian markets have opened the day in red. Nikkei 225 is down by 227 points or 0.59% at this time. Kospi index is down by 18.42 points or 0.61%. 

Indian markets may start the day on a red note today. This, because of the jump in oil prices and increased geopolitical uncertainty after the US bombing of Iran.
