Mumbai, April 29: Indian Hume Pipe Company Limited said Wednesday it has secured a ₹458.69 crore contract for a water supply project in Telangana, adding to its steady pipeline of public sector infrastructure work.

The project has been awarded by the Public Health and Municipal Engineering Department under the Government of Telangana for the Water Supply Improvement Scheme in Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation, the company said in an exchange filing.

The contract, which excludes GST, will be executed over a period of 24 months and is structured as a percentage-based agreement.

Stock Market Snapshot

Indian Hume Pipe Company share price edged higher following the announcement, reflecting a measured market response.

The stock was trading at ₹320.00, up ₹2.15, or 0.68%, as of 3:30 p.m. IST on April 29, compared with the previous close of ₹317.85. It moved between ₹318.65 and ₹327.95 during the session, according to exchange data.

The modest rise suggests investors are acknowledging the order, while also viewing it as part of the company’s ongoing business flow rather than a one-off trigger.

Strengthening a Core Segment

The latest win reinforces the company’s presence in water infrastructure a segment driven largely by government spending on urban and rural supply systems.

Projects like the Warangal scheme typically involve pipelines, pumping stations and distribution networks, areas where the company has long-standing experience.

A Business Built on Public Infrastructure

Indian Hume Pipe Company Limited has been a consistent participant in government-led water and irrigation projects across India.

With increasing focus on improving municipal water supply and infrastructure, such contracts continue to provide steady opportunities and multi-year revenue visibility.

Execution Remains the Key Factor

While the ₹458.69 crore order adds meaningful scale to the company’s order book, the real impact will depend on execution over the next two years.

Timely delivery, cost management and progress milestones will determine how this translates into financial performance.

For now, the market reaction reflects quiet confidence recognising the order’s importance, but waiting for execution to play out.
