Infosys BPM, the business process management subsidiary of Infosys, has unveiled a new generation of AI-powered agents aimed at transforming finance and accounting operations. This cutting-edge innovation, integrated within the Infosys Accounts Payable on Cloud platform, marks a strategic pivot to an autonomous, AI-first approach to invoice processing.

Key Highlights

  • Launch of AI Agents: Infosys BPM has introduced autonomous AI agents for invoice processing, powered by its AI framework, Infosys Topaz.
  • Collaboration with Microsoft: The platform leverages Microsoft Azure AI Foundry and Cognitive Services, combining large language models (LLMs) with enterprise-grade cloud scalability.
  • Customer Partnership: The solution was co-developed with Americana Restaurants, a leading QSR operator in the MENA region, with over 2,600 outlets.

AI-First Approach to Invoice Processing

The enhanced Infosys Accounts Payable on Cloud solution replaces the traditional human-AI hybrid model with fully autonomous agents capable of end-to-end workflow management. These agents can interpret dynamic business logic, adapt to evolving requirements, and execute intricate financial operations with minimal human involvement.

According to Infosys BPM, this shift results in significant gains in operational efficiency, processing accuracy, and user experience. “By integrating Infosys Topaz with a purpose-built multi-agent framework and Microsoft’s AI stack, we’ve developed a solution that is autonomous by design and responsive to change,” said Anantha Radhakrishnan, CEO and MD of Infosys BPM.

Strategic Partnership with Americana

“With the addition of Agentic AI, we’ve significantly reduced manual dependencies in invoice processing,” said Harsh Bansal, CFO and CGO of Americana Restaurants. “This aligns with our vision of scaling through intelligent automation.”

Microsoft Commends Infosys Innovation

“Infosys BPM’s use of Microsoft AI agents showcases how AI can enhance critical workflows and set new benchmarks for enterprise automation,” said Stephen Boyle, Global Leader at Microsoft.
