Innomet Advanced Materials Ltd. secured a DRDO-backed research project under the DIA-CoE programme for indigenous inert gas atomiser development, while the company’s shares remained firm in morning trade on May 10.

Mumbai, May 8: Innomet Advanced Materials Ltd. informed the National Stock Exchange of India that it has been designated as the Co-Principal Investigator (Industry) for a Grant-in-Aid Directed Research Project under the DRDO Industry Academia – Centre of Excellence (DIA-CoE) programme, according to a regulatory filing.
The company said the project, titled “Indigenous Development of large scale (100kg) inert gas atomiser,” has been sanctioned by the Ministry of Defence through the Defence Research and Development Organisation and Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad.
According to the disclosure, the project carries a sanctioned outlay of ₹873.26 lakh and is scheduled to be executed over a period of three years under the Grant-in-Aid scheme of the Long-Term Directed Research Policy.
Innomet said it will contribute to engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, integration and testing activities linked to the programme.
The project aims to develop large-scale inert gas atomisation technology used in the production of high-performance alloy powders for aerospace, defence and advanced engineering applications.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen indigenous advanced manufacturing capabilities and reduce dependence on imported strategic materials and specialised metal powders.
