“With over 10,000 daily meals now being delivered through our ‘Food on Train’ feature powered by Zoop, we have expanded our scope of services for the 54 crore annual active users we serve. We are now solving both the travel and food needs of Indian travelers across 200+ stations,” said the duo.

Background and Expansion
- ixigo acquired a 51% stake in Zoop in October 2024.
- The food delivery feature is fully integrated into ixigo Trains and ConfirmTkt.
- Users can pre-order meals, track deliveries, and cancel orders before cut-off through the apps.
Market Position & Outlook
As a digital-first OTA with a sharp focus on the next billion users in India, ixigo is tapping into growing demand for onboard food services. The sharp uptake in regional and premium meal options, including high-value orders like the ₹9K meal at Ahmedabad and bulk orders such as the 43 thalis at Lucknow, reflects both strong demand and evolving consumer preferences in train travel.
With robust adoption, wide station coverage, and strategic tech integration, ixigo and Zoop are positioned to capture a significant share of India’s in-transit food service economy.
