Larsen & Toubro Ltd (NSE: LT, BSE: 500510) has secured a significant order for its Heavy Civil Infrastructure business from JSW Energy, marking a strategic win in the renewable energy infrastructure space.
What’s the Scope and Strategic Value of the Project?
The order pertains to the execution of the Bhavali Pumped Storage Project (PSP), a major hydroelectric initiative in Maharashtra’s Nashik and Thane districts. The project is designed to have a total installed capacity of 1,500 MW, distributed across several smaller generating units.
Scope of Work:
- Construction of approach roads
- Development of upper and lower reservoirs
- Installation of water conductor systems
- Tunneling of pressure tunnels
- Creation of an underground powerhouse unit
This end-to-end civil package reinforces L&T’s dominance in executing technically complex hydro-infrastructure projects.
