Mumbai, February 25, 2026, 11:10 am IST: Shares of Larsen & Toubro Ltd rose 1.93% to ₹4,341.30 on the NSE after the company announced that its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) vertical had secured ‘Major’ EPC orders for grid infrastructure projects in India and abroad.

The order win was disclosed in a company statement dated February 25, 2026.

Larsen & Toubro operates across engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), high-technology manufacturing and services. Its PT&D vertical undertakes grid substations, transmission lines and renewable energy evacuation infrastructure in domestic and international markets.

Orders Cover 220 kV GIS Substations in West Bengal and 500 kV Projects Overseas

According to the statement, the domestic scope involves the design, supply and construction of two 220 kV Gas Insulated Substations (GIS) in the Durgapur–Raniganj–Asansol industrial belt of West Bengal. The mandate also includes associated transmission line segments using advanced conductors and multi-circuit towers.

Gas Insulated Substations are compact installations where high-voltage components are enclosed in gas-insulated modules, typically deployed in space-constrained or high-load industrial corridors to enhance reliability and operational safety.

In the Middle East, the PT&D business has won turnkey contracts from utility customers for five substations and over 250 kilometres of transmission lines spread across three countries. The projects are rated up to 500 kV. One contract additionally covers the supply and installation of a 400 kV underground cable system.

The company did not disclose specific contract values. As per its internal order classification framework, ‘Major’ orders fall within the ₹5,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore range.
