L&T's Water & Effluent Treatment Business Gets New Orders From Rajasthan Public Health Engineering Department

Larsen & Toubro Ltd. announced today that its Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) business has bagged significant engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) orders from the Public Health Engineering Department of Rajasthan, reinforcing its stronghold in India’s critical infrastructure sector.

Key Project Highlights

L&T’s latest order win comprises two major initiatives:

1. Rajasthan Rural Water Supply & Fluorosis Mitigation Project – Phase II, Package-1
   • Scope:
     • 5,251 km of transmission and distribution pipelines
     • 38 ground-level reservoirs (total capacity: 40 ML)
     • 132 overhead service reservoirs (total capacity: 25 ML)
     • 20 pump houses
   • Coverage: Water supply to 285 villages and the towns of Surajgarh and Udaipurwati in Jhunjhunu district.
2. Kekri-Sarwar Sector Water Supply Project – Ajmer District
   • Scope:
     • 43 km of transmission pipelines
     • Rehabilitation and strengthening of existing water supply infrastructure

Additionally, both projects include electromechanical, instrumentation, automation, and SCADA work, a 1-year defects liability period, and 10 years of operations and maintenance, demonstrating L&T’s turnkey capability.

Order Classification

According to L&T’s classification matrix, a “Significant” order is valued between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore, though the exact contract value was not disclosed.

Strong Track Record in Rajasthan

This win marks another addition to L&T’s portfolio in the state, where it has successfully delivered 24 similar water infrastructure projects to date, underlining the firm’s operational excellence and client confidence. “These repeat orders are a testament to L&T’s capabilities in the execution of water infrastructure projects,” the company stated.
