LT Foods Bets on Brand Experience With KidZania Launch; Shares Ease

LT Foods dipped slightly after launching a DAAWAT experience centre at KidZania, as investors weighed the move as long-term brand building rather than an immediate earnings driver.

Mumbai, April 28: LT Foods Limited is taking a different approach to marketing its flagship DAAWAT brand, launching an interactive ‘experience centre’ at KidZania where children can step into the role of rice producers and see how basmati moves from farm to shelf.
The initiative, disclosed in an exchange filing, is less about selling a product and more about telling its story. Inside the centre, children walk through a simplified version of the company’s processing chain from sourcing paddy to packaging turning what is usually a back-end operation into something visible and engaging.
Stock Market Snapshot
LT Foods Limited share price edged lower following the announcement, reflecting a cautious market response.
By 3:30 p.m. IST, the stock was trading at ₹425.60, down ₹3.20, or 0.75%. It opened at ₹428.80, briefly rose to ₹431.00, and then eased through the session, according to exchange data.
A Different Kind of Marketing Play
Experiential marketing is still relatively underused in India’s packaged foods sector. Initiatives like this aim to create a deeper, more lasting connection. By focusing on how its product is made not just how it is sold LT Foods is trying to reinforce quality and authenticity in a way that traditional campaigns often cannot.
Fits Into a Broader Shift
LT Foods Limited, which sells premium rice under brands like DAAWAT and Royal, has been gradually moving beyond its commodity roots toward a more brand-led model.
Investments in global markets, value-added products and now consumer engagement reflect that shift.
Long-Term Play, Not Immediate Impact
The KidZania partnership is unlikely to move revenue or margins in the near term. Its value lies in building recall, strengthening perception and, over time, potentially supporting pricing power.
