Key Takeaways

Healthcare stocks remained the biggest drag on sectoral performance, with multiple healthcare-linked indices featuring among the day’s weakest performers. The decline in Nifty Pharma, Nifty MidSmall Healthcare and Nifty 500 Healthcare suggests selling pressure was widespread across the sector rather than concentrated in a handful of stocks.

Financial-services indices also contributed to the negative sentiment, although losses were less severe compared with healthcare benchmarks. As of 13:30 IST on June 2, 2026, defensive healthcare and select financial-services segments continued to underperform the broader market, according to exchange data.
