This after the risk to oil supply disruptions suddenly increased. Widespread protests in Iran against the government may result in disruption in supply of Iranian crude. Iraq’s cabinet has approved the nationalization of West Qurna 2 oilfield. This may also cause some disruption in global crude oil supply. US President Trump’s support for a bill that may increase tariffs up to 500% on countries that buy Russian oil will result in almost complete reduction in Russian crude oil supply to the world market. All these factors may push up global crude oil prices.
