Mumbai, September 09: Organic Recycling Systems Limited has secured a ₹92.41 crore Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operation and Maintenance contract from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited for setting up an organic municipal solid waste-based compressed biogas plant in Kozhikode, Kerala.
As per the regulatory filing, the contract has been awarded to Solapur Bioenergy Systems Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Organic Recycling Systems. The project involves setting up an organic municipal solid waste-based CBG plant at Kozhikode.
The EPC portion of the contract, including commissioning, is scheduled to be completed within 15 months from the date of the Letter of Acceptance. This will be followed by five years of comprehensive operations and maintenance from commissioning.
The latest contract is the third BPCL EPCOM mandate secured by ORSL within a week. The company had earlier announced contracts for CBG projects in Mysuru, Karnataka, and Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Together, the three BPCL contracts have an aggregate value of ₹259.71 crore and represent a confirmed CBG processing capacity of at least 9.8 tonnes per day across the Mysuru and Raipur projects, with the Kozhikode facility adding another project to the portfolio.
Stock Market Snapshot
The Organic Recycling Systems share price was trading at ₹183.00 as of 9:24 AM IST on September 9, 2026, according to the market data shown.
The stock had opened around ₹181 before moving sharply higher during the early session. It climbed to nearly ₹195 before giving up a substantial part of those gains and returning to ₹183 at the latest available timestamp.
Based on the ₹180 reference level visible on the chart, the stock was still around 1.67% higher at the time of the update. The sharp early move came as investors assessed the company’s latest BPCL contract and the rapid addition to its CBG project pipeline.
Third BPCL Contract Takes Recent Awards To ₹259.71 Crore
The Kozhikode contract follows two BPCL EPCOM awards announced earlier for Mysuru and Raipur. The three projects span Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Kerala, giving ORSL a wider geographic footprint in the CBG sector.
The EPCOM structure is also important for the company because its role extends beyond engineering and construction. Solapur Bioenergy Systems will remain involved in operating and maintaining the facilities for five years after commissioning.
ORSL said the repeated awards from BPCL reflect growing confidence in its project execution capabilities and its ability to handle CBG projects across multiple locations.
The company also has a renewed O&M contract for its Gorakhpur CBG plant with Indian Oil Corporation, further expanding its relationship with India’s public-sector oil marketing companies.
Kozhikode Project Expands ORSL’s CBG Footprint Into Kerala
The new project will process organic municipal solid waste and convert it into compressed biogas, linking waste management with renewable fuel production.
For ORSL, the Kozhikode contract marks an expansion into Kerala and adds another state to its growing CBG project footprint. The company is positioning this business around the conversion of organic waste into useful energy while providing long-term plant operations and maintenance services.
The projects are also aligned with India’s broader push towards alternative fuels and circular waste management. Government programmes such as Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation and the GOBARdhan initiative are supporting the development of CBG infrastructure.
Organic Recycling Systems Builds Integrated CleanTech Business
Organic Recycling Systems is an integrated CleanTech and decarbonisation company focused on organic waste processing, CBG production and bioenergy solutions.
Founded in 2008 and listed on the BSE SME platform in 2023, the company has developed proprietary technologies for organic waste-to-CBG applications. Its technology platform includes the DRYAD anaerobic digestion technology, along with NABL-accredited in-house R&D capabilities.
The company is also expanding its role from project execution into long-term plant operations. The five-year O&M component attached to the latest BPCL contract gives ORSL continued involvement after the Kozhikode plant is commissioned.
Conclusion
Organic Recycling Systems has secured a ₹92.41 crore EPCOM contract from BPCL for an organic municipal solid waste-based CBG plant at Kozhikode, Kerala.
The project includes engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning within 15 months, followed by five years of comprehensive O&M. It is the third BPCL EPCOM contract secured by ORSL within a week.
With the latest award, the company’s three BPCL contracts across Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Kerala have a combined value of ₹259.71 crore, strengthening its presence in India’s growing CBG infrastructure market.
On the market front, the Organic Recycling Systems share price stood at ₹183.00 as of 9:24 AM IST on September 9, 2026, with the stock trading around 1.67% above the ₹180 reference level shown on the chart.
