Orient Green Power Subsidiary Signs Wind Power LOI; Shares Slip

Orient Green Power’s subsidiary Beta Wind Farm signed an LOI with Renfra Energy India for a 6.6 MW wind power expansion project valued at ₹62 crore, while shares traded lower.

Mumbai, May 20: Orient Green Power Company Ltd said its material subsidiary Beta Wind Farm Private Ltd has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Renfra Energy India Ltd for expansion of installed wind power capacity through deployment of two wind turbine generators in Tamil Nadu, according to an exchange filing.
The company stated that the proposed expansion involves installation, supply and commissioning of two wind turbine generators (WTGs) of 3.3 MW each, aggregating to 6.6 MW capacity at Karur district, Tamil Nadu.
As per the disclosure, Renfra Energy India accepted the LOI on Tuesday. The project will be executed on a turnkey basis.
Orient Green Power said the Investment, Borrowing and Banking Committee (IBBC) of Beta Wind Farm approved the expansion proposal and authorised officials to finalise the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract linked to the project.
The company disclosed that the aggregate consideration under the LOI stands at ₹62 crore, inclusive of GST.
Execution of the contract is scheduled on or before July 31, 2026, according to the filing submitted under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The company also clarified that the transaction does not involve related party arrangements and promoters do not hold any interest in the awarding entity.
