Mumbai, April 24: Pace Digitek Ltd. has signed an exclusivity agreement with South Africa-based NEC XON Systems Proprietary Ltd. to market and distribute its products across select African markets, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Under the agreement, NEC XON will exclusively market, distribute and sell Pace Digitek’s products in South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and Mauritius.

Focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems

The partnership will primarily focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems, a segment gaining importance as countries expand renewable energy capacity and seek solutions to manage power supply variability and grid reliability.

The company did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement or provide revenue visibility from the partnership.

Asset-Light Entry Strategy

Pace Digitek said the agreement is designed to support international expansion through a partner-led model, allowing the company to enter new markets without setting up its own on-ground operations.

The agreement has been executed at arm’s length, with no promoter or related-party involvement, according to the disclosure.

Pace Digitek Shares Trade Lower Post Announcement

Shares of Pace Digitek were trading lower in early afternoon trade on Thursday.

As of 12:50 p.m. IST, the stock was trading at ₹173.64 on the National Stock Exchange, down 1.51% from its previous close of ₹176.30. During the session, the stock moved between ₹172.21 and ₹180.79.

Africa Energy Market Trends Support Storage Demand

Africa’s energy sector has been witnessing increased investments in decentralised power infrastructure, renewable energy integration and battery storage deployments. Energy storage systems play a key role in addressing intermittency and supporting off-grid and hybrid power applications.

Company Background and International Strategy

Pace Digitek operates in the power electronics and energy solutions space and has been gradually expanding its presence beyond India. The company has favoured partnerships as a way to explore overseas markets while limiting capital intensity and execution risk.
