PepsiCo India Posts Rs. 883.4 Crore Profit in 2024

PepsiCo India, a leading player in the food and beverage sector, reported a net profit of ₹883.4 crore for the 12-month period ending December 31, 2024. The company’s total revenue stood at ₹8,877 crore during the same period, reflecting strong performance across both beverage and packaged foods segments.
This is the first annual report filed by the company after switching its financial reporting cycle from April–March to the calendar year. In the previous nine-month period (April to December 2023), PepsiCo India posted a revenue of ₹5,954.16 crore and a net profit of ₹217.26 crore.
PepsiCo India’s Business Performance in 2024
PepsiCo India’s 2024 results include contributions from its flagship beverage brands Pepsi, Mirinda, and Mountain Dew as well as its packaged foods portfolio including Lay’s chips and Quaker oats. The company also earns revenue through concentrate sales to its bottling partner, Varun Beverages, which manages manufacturing and distribution.
CEO Jagrut Kotecha said, “Despite challenges such as inflation and sluggish urban consumption, the FMCG industry in India has shown resilience. PepsiCo’s strong marketing, innovation, and local execution have been key to our performance this year.”
CFO Kaushik Mitra highlighted improved profitability, noting, “Even though the new reporting format limits year-on-year comparisons, our consistent margin expansion over the last three cycles underscores a healthy and scalable business model.”
Strategic Investments and Market Expansion
PepsiCo is doubling down on its India strategy. The company is investing ₹1,266 crore to build a new flavor manufacturing plant in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, scheduled to start operations in early 2026. Additionally, a new production facility is being developed in Tamil Nadu to meet rising demand across India.
Global CEO Ramon Laguarta has called India one of PepsiCo’s most promising growth markets within the AMESA region (Africa, Middle East, and South Asia), confirming its long-term investment focus in the country.
Industry Outlook and Competitive Landscape
India’s packaged food market is currently valued at ₹3.6 trillion, while the carbonated soft drinks segment generated $18.25 billion in revenue in 2022. PepsiCo India competes with global and domestic FMCG giants like Coca-Cola, ITC, Haldiram’s, and Bikaji.
Its bottling partner, Varun Beverages, recorded a revenue of ₹20,481 crore and net profit of ₹3,433 crore in 2024, reinforcing the strength of PepsiCo’s supply and distribution ecosystem in India.
